Chelsea are closely monitoring Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, but a move would depend on players leaving according to ESPN.

The Blues have already signed three attackers this summer in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens, whilst they appear to be closing in on a move for Xavi Simons.

Noni Madueke has left for Arsenal, whilst both Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are set to follow the England international out of the Stamford Bridge exit door.

Chelsea closely monitoring Garnacho

The Blues are thought to want eight or nine attacking options in their squad to rotate between next season, with Simons looking like he’ll be the fourth attacking signing this summer.

However, despite seemingly being well covered in attack Chelsea continue to be linked with United winger Garnacho.

Chelsea expressed an interest back in January, but didn’t make a move, and links to the Argentine have continued throughout the summer, and ESPN have reported the Blues are closely monitoring the 21-year-old.

The report adds United have lowered their asking price from £70m to £40m, but for Chelsea to make a move it’s likely both Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson would need to leave.

ESPN add Aston Vila are also interested, whilst Garnacho’s preference is to remain in the Premier League this summer.

Garnacho scored 11 goals and registered ten assists in 58 appearances last season, but his United career is now seemingly over.

Manchester United interested in Jackson

Jackson could hold the key to a potential deal, with United interested in a move for the Senegal international.

Chelsea are said to value Jackson at between £80-£100m, but it’s thought he’d be open to a move to Old Trafford if it’s not possible to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

United are highly unlikely to meet Chelsea’s asking price, and the only way a deal could be likely is if Garnacho is involved.

However, with Gittens already signed and Simons looking like he will arrive, there doesn’t appear to be a need for Garnacho, and any move would be strange.
