La Liga outfit Girona have on Wednesday agreed to the sale of a key member of the club’s attacking ranks.

The player in question? Artem Dovbyk.

Frontman Dovbyk has of course long been hotly tipped to bring the Estadi Montilivi chapter of his career to a close this summer.

As much comes with the Ukrainian’s exploits en route to top-scorer status in La Liga this past season having sparked widespread interest in his signature.

For some time, it was Atlético Madrid who were considered the favourites to land Dovbyk, amid their search for a replacement for Álvaro Morata.

After the Rojiblancos brass failed to meet the demands of their Girona counterparts, however, a new frontrunner recently emerged.

And, on Wednesday, the same club have tied up a definitive agreement for the prolific goalscorer.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Artem Dovbyk to AS Roma, here we go! Verbal agreement in place with Girona.’

Dovbyk has agreed to the terms of a five-year contract with Daniele De Rossi’s Roma, expected to fly out to Italy’s capital to undergo medical tests at some point on Thursday.
