Details have emerged regarding the temporary training facilities that Manchester United’s women’s team will utilise in order to accommodate the men’s team.

This comes after a slew of criticism was directed at Man United, and INEOS in particular, for seemingly mistreating the women’s team during the construction process.

The Peoples Person relayed that the women’s team would be moved into portable buildings at Carrington while the men’s team uses the women’s permanent facilities as their infrastructure is being revamped.

Just two days later, the Professional Footballers’ Association reportedly stepped in, gearing up to hold conversations with United leadership in an effort to resolve this alleged neglect of the women’s team.

This morning, however, an update on the situation emerged, claiming that the women’s first team’s situation may not be as dire as previously reported.

Emma Sanders posted on X: “Some more positive news on Man Utd Women’s training facilities after being moved for men. I’m told temporary building for season not a portacabin. Includes canteen area, cooking station and refurbished pitches.”

The BBC Sports journalist concluded that the women, “Can access S&C, medical, ice baths/pools at the old men’s site.”

Should this update prove correct, it would come at an opportune time for the club leadership, particularly given the poor light they have been viewed in as a result of inequitable treatment toward the women’s team.

Just last week, Sky Sports claimed that United do not regard the women’s team as highly as they should.

They added that poor treatment has led to a high turnover in coaches and other staff members as well as players, with contracts being allowed to run out.

In fact, former United star Mary Earps appeared to take a swipe at the club upon securing her move to PSG.

“I cannot wait to play for a top team and to be in a position to compete and win trophies over the next few years. That’s where I really want to be – fighting at the top. I am really looking forward to that,” Earps stated.

Should Sanders’ update prove correct, it would be a much-welcomed change, particularly if it would bring about the satisfaction of the women’s first team and ensure fair treatment.
