Corinthians continued their preparations for the remainder of the season with a sector-based training session at the Dr. Joaquim Grava training ground, according to UOL. The squad began with physical activation in the gym before moving to pitch work that split the team into defensive and offensive groups. On one field, manager Dorival Júnior led midfielders and attackers through exercises focused on attacking structure and coordination. Meanwhile, assistant Pedro Sotero worked specifically with the defensive line on another pitch—a unit that has come under scrutiny from supporters amid inconsistent performances, as the team currently lacks an undisputed first-choice centre-back.

The morning concluded with a small-sided game, designed to sharpen both individual and collective decision-making in tight spaces. Training is set to continue on Monday as Corinthians build towards their next fixture, a home clash against Red Bull Bragantino at Neo Química Arena in the 13th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Dorival Júnior’s training methods this pre-season period underline a broader push for organization and clarity in roles, especially at the back. Defensive frailties have attracted public criticism, and with no guaranteed starters among the centre-backs, the staff are focused on improving both the tactical solidity and confidence of the group.

This focus on structure and clarity in training comes alongside a larger youth integration project currently underway at the club, as reported by Globo in recent weeks. Dorival has amplified the role of academy players throughout this interseason, tapping into the youth setup not just out of philosophy, but also necessity—financial pressures have constrained Corinthians’ transfer options. Several under-20 prospects have been added to first-team sessions, and some, like forward Kayke Ferrari, have begun making appearances in competitive matches.

In parallel, Corinthians’ technical staff are keeping an eye on the transfer market, particularly for an attacking player capable of adding pace in wide areas. Efforts to bring in Biel from Sporting faltered over costs, leaving the club focused on out-of-contract or loan options that fit a restricted budget. The recent departure of Igor Coronado to Sharjah has eased the wage bill but has not yet translated into reinforcements.

As Corinthians restart their campaign, the blend of detailed training, youth promotion, and pragmatic market activity reflects Dorival’s effort to coax more stability and energy from a reshaped squad for the season’s second half.
