According to UOL, Corinthians resumed their training schedule on Sunday at the Joaquim Grava training ground, focusing on rebuilding offensive patterns after a 15-day break. Manager Dorival Júnior oversaw a session emphasizing attacking movements and finishing, as preparations ramp up for the club’s return to action in mid-July.
The morning began with strength work in the gym, followed by tactical drills aimed at developing fluidity in attack. The training culminated with a small-sided match in a reduced space and a further offensive organization exercise, central tenets of Dorival’s game model as the team seeks to sharpen its edge in front of goal.
Key among the talking points was striker Yuri Alberto’s participation as he began the physical transition phase of his recovery from a vertebral fracture. The injury, suffered in the match against Atlético-MG in late May, was initially thought to be a muscle issue but was later diagnosed as a fracture in the transverse process of the L1 vertebra. Alberto started individual work with the club’s fitness staff on Sunday—the clearest indicator yet of progress after weeks of rest and rehabilitation, though he remains under close medical observation and has not been cleared for full training or match action. Club sources are focusing on a gradual and cautious approach to his return, aiming to avoid any setbacks.
The squad, now back at full strength following their break, will continue preparations with double training sessions scheduled for Monday. The extended training period offers an opportunity for tactical refinement and physical conditioning ahead of the resumption of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Corinthians currently sit 10th in the league with 16 points, preparing to host third-placed Red Bull Bragantino at the Neo Química Arena on July 13.
As Dorival Júnior and his staff press the importance of both attacking combinations and structural solidity, the ongoing rehabilitation of Yuri Alberto is being closely watched by supporters aware of his significance to the team’s attacking approach. Meanwhile, the rest of the squad is being put through their paces with intensive technical work, ensuring the group is prepared for a busy period of fixtures to come.
