Matchday Live will once again have a brilliant line-up of guests for our broadcast of the Women’s League Cup Final.
City will travel down to the Pride Park to face Sonia Bompastor’s side on Saturday 15 March with kick-off set for 12:15 (UK).
Nick Cushing’s team will need to be at our best in order to win. Our last outing against this weekend’s opponents ended in a 2-0 defeat, but City will be looking to lift our first silverware of 2024/25 with a more positive result on Saturday.
It all points to the exciting afternoon in Derby and tickets can be purchased here.
For such an occasion, City legends Toni Duggan and Steve Howey will join presenter FG in the Matchday Live studio to provide analysis before the game, at half-time and after the full-time whistle.
Duggan enjoyed an acclaimed spell with the Blues, making 75 appearances in all competitions and scored 34 goals between 2014 and 2017. She helped City to four major honours, including two League Cups, the 2016 Barclays WSL title and the FA Cup in 2016/17. She was also a member of our maiden professional team.
Joining her in the studio is Matchday Live regular Howey who was a key player in City’s team that won the First Division title (now Championship) in 2001/02. He also made 103 appearances for the Club during his three-year stint.
Matchday Live will be a fixture of our comprehensive coverage of the clash on the official Man City App.
Alongside our show, starting 90 minutes before kick-off, our Matchday Centre will provide detailed text updates, stats and analysis throughout the game and after the final whistle.
Those with push notifications turned on will be alerted to all the key moments, with Nick Walsh and Karen Bardsley also guiding you through the action from the press box with live audio commentary.
A detailed match report plus reaction from Interim Head Coach Cushing and a player will be made available shortly after the full-time whistle, along with highlights and a CITY + full-match replay.
