Speculation around Amine Adli’s future has resurfaced, with Bayern München reportedly considering the Bayer Leverkusen winger as a potential addition to their squad depth. The rumour, discussed by Transfermarkt, places the likelihood of a move at around 42 percent, underscoring the uncertainty but continued relevance of the link.

Bayern’s interest in Adli dates back to 2021, when negotiations reportedly broke down after an internal executive at Bayern failed to recognize the player, causing the club to withdraw from a possible €7 million deal. Since then, the club’s need for options behind Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané on the wings remains, and Adli’s profile aligns with this requirement.

Adli is under contract at Leverkusen until 2028, strengthening the club’s negotiating position. With an estimated market value of €18 million according to Transfermarkt, any deal would likely need to exceed €20 million. Leverkusen’s current financial position is stable, and there have been no recent reports of a release clause. The Bundesliga champions are in no rush to part ways with the 25-year-old, having recently extended his contract.

On the pitch, Adli's 2024/25 campaign saw him primarily used as a super sub, recording 28 appearances with 2 goals and 2 assists. His statistical output stands at 0.24 goals and 0.24 assists per 90 minutes, paired with 2.1 dribbles per 90 at an 83 percent success rate, and 1.3 key passes per 90. Xabi Alonso values Adli for his versatility—able to operate on both wings or as a secondary striker—but has not handed him a regular starting role. While Adli’s dribbling and work rate are notable, questions persist over his end product and physicality at the highest level.

Neither Bayern nor Leverkusen have made public statements regarding this potential transfer in recent weeks. Adli himself has not commented on the situation since his 2021 move, when he cited “project trust” as the reason for choosing Leverkusen over Bayern.

The move is seen as a low-risk way for Bayern to bolster their squad, but does not deliver the marquee presence they have targeted in other pursuits this summer, such as Palhinha or Michael Olise. Meanwhile, Leverkusen would see limited sporting impact from Adli’s departure, given his rotational role, though the sale could free up funds for further moves.

Fan reactions remain mixed. Some Bayern supporters view Adli as a cost-effective squad player, while others question whether he meets the club’s standards. Among Leverkusen followers, there is a preference to retain Adli for his versatility within the matchday squad.

Bayern’s alternatives on the left include Rodrygo of Real Madrid, Leandro Trossard of Arsenal, and Luis Díaz of Liverpool, indicating the club is keeping options open. The main obstacles to a deal include Leverkusen’s reluctance to sell to a domestic rival and the player’s inconsistency this past season.

Transfermarkt’s algorithm places the likelihood of a deal in the 40 to 50 percent range, hinging on how Bayern calibrates their summer business and their willingness to pay a premium for a player regarded as a squad option rather than a game-changer.
