According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, it has been learned that Barcelona stand to gain an extensive economic increase in the event that they qualify for the UEFA Champions League semi-final, with €15 million on the line.
Following their dominant 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final first leg, Barcelona are now in a strong position to advance to the final four.
The outlet explains that the Champions League operates on a financial structure where UEFA rewards teams with cash for progressing to each level.
A semi-final qualification ensures an addition of €15 million to coffers, which will be positive news for Barcelona. This is because that amount could be added to the profits of the 2024-25 financial year.
Thus far, Barcelona have amassed €101.563 million in profits from this season’s Champions League campaign. The team started off with €18.62 million as part of the initial pot allocated to all 36 members in the group stage.

Barcelona’s strong performance in the group stage, where they finished 2nd with 19 points, earned them an additional €2.1 million for each of their six victories and €0.7 million for a draw.
Additionally, Barcelona benefited from €665,000 in surplus finances from the draws that were not awarded to the match winners..
Further contributions followed through the knockout rounds. Finishing within the top eight in the group stage earned the club €2 million, while advancing to the round of 16 brought an additional €11 million, and their quarter-final berth furnished an extra €12.5 million.
The economic rewards certainly do not end there. Should Barcelona reach the semi-finals, an additional €15 million would be added to their earnings.
If they make it to the final, UEFA will award them with €18.5 million, and if they win the competition, another €6.5 million will be added.
