Atlético Madrid enquire about Nick Woltemade | OneFootball

Nick Woltemade enjoyed a breakthrough season in his maiden campaign at Stuttgart, scoring 17 goals and providing three assists in 33 games, attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs.

BILD report that Atlético Madrid have enquired about Woltemade as they search for a successor to Angel Correa. The VfB forward has a contract until 2028 and no exit clause, with further reporting suggesting that the German doesn’t want to leave the club after just one season.

Bayern Munich, Brighton and Everton have also shown interest in signing Woltemade, but BILD further report that Stuttgart are ready to open contract negotiations. Earning a reported €1.5m salary, the 23-year-old is one of the lowest earners at the Swabian club. Talks between Stuttgart and the player’s entourage could begin soon as VfB look to strengthen their position in attack after confirming that El Bilal Touré will return to Atalanta following his loan spell.

With Ermedin Demirovic (15 goals) and Deniz Undav (9 goals) in the Bundesliga this season, Stuttgart would be reluctant in allowing Woltemade (15 goals) to leave the MHPArena in the summer.
