Manchester United are reportedly ready to lower their £50 million asking price for Alejandro Garnacho, as reported by Caught Offside. The Red Devils are eager to conclude a deal swiftly, and while Chelsea’s interest has cooled, Aston Villa have emerged as a potential destination.
According to Caught Offside, Garnacho has prioritised staying in England, having already rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia and Serie A. A source close to the player revealed, “He (Garnacho) puts sporting development ahead of financial gain.” This makes the Premier League his top choice, despite tempting offers from clubs like Al Nassr and Napoli.
Interestingly, a potential reunion with former United manager Erik ten Hag at Bayer Leverkusen is currently off the table, leaving the door wide open for a Premier League move.
Caught Offside report that Aston Villa are “one to watch” in the Garnacho saga. While no formal negotiations have taken place, Villa’s interest is notable, particularly given their ambitions to strengthen under Unai Emery. Villa have faced challenges in the transfer market, having already parted ways with key players like Douglas Luiz and Jhon Duran.
Caught Offside note, “It may be that United would have to significantly lower their asking price for this to be realistic, or else perhaps be open to a loan deal as they were when they let Marcus Rashford move to Villa Park back in January.”

Villa’s ability to complete this deal may hinge on further player sales. With Financial Fair Play considerations and previous spending, Villa might need to balance their books before bringing in a marquee signing like Garnacho.
Yet Garnacho’s profile as a young, hungry, and Premier League-proven winger would undoubtedly appeal to Emery’s long-term plans, especially as the club looks to push further up the table and make an impact in Europe.
Alejandro Garnacho is seen as one of the most exciting young talents in European football. At 21, he already boasts experience in big matches, including the Europa League final. His dynamism, flair, and directness would bring something fresh to Villa’s attack. Moreover, his preference to stay in England signals a desire for continuity and competitive development, rather than chasing lucrative but less challenging leagues.
For United, letting Garnacho go could signal a shift in strategy, possibly using funds to rebuild under Ruben Amorim or any successor. For Villa, landing Garnacho could be a real statement of intent.
As an excited Aston Villa supporter, the idea of signing Alejandro Garnacho feels like the sort of ambition we’ve been waiting for. This is the kind of deal that tells the league we are not here just to make up the numbers, we’re here to challenge.
Garnacho is a game-changer. He’s fast, fearless, and loves taking on defenders, exactly the profile we’ve lacked since Jack Grealish left. To hear from Caught Offside that he “puts sporting development ahead of financial gain” is music to Villa fans’ ears. It’s rare nowadays to see a player snub Saudi money to focus on his football, and that mentality would fit perfectly under Unai Emery, who values hard-working, ambitious players.
There’s no doubt we’ll have to juggle finances, maybe even offload someone, but if we manage to land Garnacho, it could elevate our entire attack. Imagine him combining with Ollie Watkins or Moussa Diaby, terrorising defences and giving us that extra spark in Europe. If Villa pull this off, it will show we’re serious about pushing into the Premier League’s top tier. Fans will be dreaming already.
