La Liga giants Real Madrid appear to be closing on the signature of another of world football’s most highly-regarded young talents.

The player in question? Franco Mastantuono.

The name of midfielder Mastantuono has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Madrid for several months now.

As much comes after reports stemming from the 16-year-old’s home country of Argentina confirmed that the powers that be at the Santiago Bernabéu had identified Mastantuono as a prime target.

Los Blancos are far from the only European heavyweights keen, with arch rivals Barcelona, for one, having been keeping tabs on the River Plate prodigy for some time now.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word doing the rounds on Monday is anything to go by, Real Madrid have positioned themselves as clear front-runners to strike a deal.

As per a report from Relevo, the Blancos brass have already made contact with Mastantuono and his entourage, regarding a potential transfer.

And, safe to say, the response could not have been a more positive one.

This comes with the teenage sensation having already ‘chosen’ Spain’s capital as his next destination.

Mastantuono, it is claimed, has asked his representatives to prioritise Real’s proposal over those of any others, fully intent on linking up with the newly-crowned La Liga champions.

Florentino Pérez and co, in turn, are ready to propose a deal to River Plate similar to that which landed them Endrick.

The offer in question would be based around an initial lump sum, followed by a series of add-ons, as well as allowing Mastantuono to continue his development in Buenos Aires until turning 18.
