The newly promoted Amanat Baghdad club, making its debut in the Iraqi Premier League, pulled off a major coup by signing Algerian star Sofiane Feghouli for one season, for a fee close to 200,000 euros.

Former Valencia midfielder in Spain, West Ham midfielder in England, and one of the top talents of the Algerian national team."The club added:"We are opening a new chapter in the history of Iraqi football with Feghouli's arrival. Get ready to witness his skill and experience on our fields."Throughout his career, Feghouli has played 502 matches, scored 75 goals, and provided 82 assists. He has also worn the Algerian national team jersey 82 times, netting 20 goals and delivering 15 assists.He has featured for several major clubs such as Valencia (Spain), Galatasaray (Turkey), and West Ham United (England).In addition, Amanat Baghdad has bolstered its squad this transfer window with the arrivals of Tunisian striker Hamdi Labidi from Club Africain, and Gambian Lamin Samateh.
