Manchester City wonderkid Divine Mukasa has starred for City’s under-18 side this season. His impressive play has caught the eye and he appears destined for bigger things in the future. The hope is that he can achieve that as part of the Manchester City first team. Mukasa scored a brace for Manchester City’s under-18 side yesterday during their 3-nil win over Wolves yesterday. But the piece of play for his second goal shows just how prodigious a talent he is.
Divine Mukasa scored a penalty to open the scoring for City’s under-18 side yesterday in the 56th minute of the match. But his goal in the 61st minute stole the show. Mukasa calmly rounded a Wolves defender before doing the same to the Wolves keeper to make it 2-nil. The goal shows the prodigious talent that Divine Mukasa has. It was a piece of genius from Mukasa to sum the goal up. In fact, words don’t do the goal justice. The sublime goal can be seen below.
But what Mukasa’s goals shows is the prodigious talent that he is. He is almost playing a different game at times to his opponents. When watching young players play you do look for glimpses of that trait in their performances. Divine Mukasa has that in spades. He makes the game appear simple and that shows just how big a talent he is. He appears to be destined for a career at the top. Hopefully, he can start that at the FIFA Club World Cup as a part of Manchester City’s squad at the tournament. He looks to be a cut above at youth level and needs to be playing at a higher level. That is obvious to see based on his performances for Manchester City’s under-18 side this season.
Divine Mukasa showed another glimpse of his prodigious talent yesterday. No further proof was needed of the talent he has. But his goal yesterday was further proof that Manchester City have a potential star on their hands. It was a sublime piece of skill and it just reaffirmed that Mukasa is set for a big career at the highest level.
