Manchester United have a major problem on their hands in the form of Marcus Rashford. Who would have thought that a couple of seasons ago when he banged in 30 goals in one campaign!
Since then, his form has nosedived and off-field issues meant he fell out hard with both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, with the Portuguese sending him out on loan to Aston Villa in January.
INEOS included a £40 million buy option, hoping to get rid of him to avoid further drama in the dressing room. But unfortunately, the Birmingham side failed to qualify for the Champions League, thereby ending their hopes of a permanent deal.
The Mancunian has made no secret of his desire to move to Barcelona, rejecting multiple clubs in the process. He is so hellbent on the move that he is even prepared to sue his boyhood club to earn a move away.
But the Catalans have still stayed away from submitting a concrete proposal, and with time slowly running out, more and more teams are expressing their interest in the Englishman.
Bayern Munich are one, while Fenerbahce have also returned after some initial interest. Former United boss Jose Mourinho seems to have been won over after initial doubts, and now the Turkish giants are preparing a mega offer.
As per BeIN Sports Turkey, Fener are prepared to submit a €40 million offer, and are even ready to send their representatives to Manchester to negotiate with both the club and the player next week.
“Fenerbahçe , one of the Trendyol Super League teams , has stepped in for Marcus Rashford, one of the important names in world football, in line with the request of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho.
“The 27-year-old English star, who is not considered in Manchester United’s squad planning, is preparing to leave the team.
“While Rashford’s dream is to play for Barcelona, Fenerbahçe’s interest in the English winger has gained significant weight. The Yellow Canaries are prepared to pay Rashford’s €40 million release clause.
“According to sources close to the club, Fenerbahçe will send a representative to England this weekend to meet with both Rashford and Manchester United executives.”
“Rashford, whom Fenerbahçe manager Mourinho insists on seeing in his squad, is also said to be keen on Türkiye for a fresh start.”
Whether Marcus Rashford gives up his Barcelona dream to move to Turkey remains to be seen. INEOS would be delighted if they actually receive permanent proposals.
For now, the England international is back at Carrington, training alongside Alejandro Garnacho, but the duo along with the three other out-of-favour stars can only attend training once the first team departs.
