La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have on Thursday unveiled the club’s squad for their upcoming showdown with Real Madrid.

La Real, of course, will mark their return to action in a little over 24 hours’ time.

After seeing the fixture moved to allow Real Madrid extra time to prepare for their impending Champions League semi-final first-leg showdown with Bayern Munich, Imanol’s troops will welcome Los Blancos to Anoeta on Friday night.

Sociedad will head into proceedings aware that they could not ask for a better time to take on Carlo Ancelotti’s Real.

This comes with the capital giants having all but sewn up the La Liga title last weekend, and with one eye already on next week’s task on the continent.

As a result, widespread rotation is expected on the part of the visitors to San Sebastián, good news for Imanol and co. in their hopes of springing a surprise by way of a three-point haul.

With the likes of Jude Bellingham and Ferland Mendy having been omitted from Real Madrid’s travelling squad entirely, which players, then, will the Sociedad coaching staff be depending on tomorrow night?

A short time ago, as much was confirmed.

As per a post across the club’s social media platforms, La Real’s 23-man squad to face Real Madrid will feature both Martín Zubimendi and Igor Zubeldia, fresh off sitting out respective suspensions.

Even more notable, though, is the return of Brais Méndez, who was previously tipped to sit out the remainder of the campaign after breaking a bone in his foot just last month.

On the other hand, missing out, as expected, are long-term absentees Carlos Fernández, and Aihen Muñoz.

And also unavailable to boss Imanol at Anoeta on Friday will be full-back pair Kieran Tierney, and Hamari Traoré.
