The duo could certainly bring plenty to offer at Ewood Park

Blackburn Rovers have so far yet to take advantage of the Premier League in this summer's transfer window.

The four signings so far made by the club are all from elsewhere, with Makhtar Gueye joining from Belgian side RWD Molenbeek, and Yuki Ohashi signing from Sanfrecce Hiroshima in Japan.

Meanwhile, Andreas Weimann and Danny Batth have arrived on free transfers after the expiration of their contracts with Championship rivals Bristol City and Norwich City respectively.

However, with less than two weeks to go until the market closes, there is still a need for plenty more reinforcements for John Eustace's side.

As a result, there is still time for the club to recruit from the top-flight of English football, and some potential signings from that level would certainly be useful for them.

Indeed, with the Premier League campaign now underway, it is at a point where clubs at that level may be more willing to let go of players who are not part of their plans for the season.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at two players currently competing in the Premier League that Blackburn Rovers should be targeting this week, as they continue their recruitment drive.

Daniel Iversen (Leicester City)

One Premier League player who has been touted as a target under consideration by the Lancashire club this summer who should be well worth pursuing, is Leicester City goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.

Last season saw Rovers struggle between the posts after the sale of Thomas Kaminski to Luton Town, with both Aynsley Pears and Leo Wahlstedt making some costly errors.

As a result, Wahlstedt has already been sold after just a single season at Ewood Park, while Pears has had some far from convincing moments at the start of this campaign.

That reinforces the need for Blackburn to sign a goalkeeper before the window closes, and Iversen could be a good option.

While he has never established himself as a regular with the newly-promoted Foxes, he has previously impressed in the Championship on loan with Preston North End and Stoke City.

Consequently, he could now be a solid option for Eustace's side, and it is suggested he could be available for around £1.6million this summer.

It is also worth noting that at 27-years-old, he could offer Rovers a much longer-term option between the posts than others they have been linked with, such as veterans Tim Krul and John Ruddy.

Blackburn have brought in some significant funds this year, from the sales of the likes of Adam Wharton and Sammie Szmodics recently, plus a sell-on fee from David Raya's move to Arsenal.

This therefore, may potentially be an affordable deal for the Ewood Park club in the coming days.

Amario Cozier-Duberry (Brighton)

Amario Cozier-Duberry only joined Brighton this summer, arriving on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with another Premier League club in the form of Arsenal.

Despite an impressive pre-season - which included two goals on debut against Kashima Antlers - The Athletic have reported that the 19-year-old will be loaned to a Championship club this season.

Given the fact that Eustace has stated publicly on a number of occasions this summer that he wants Blackburn to sign a winger this summer, that is something they could be taking advantage of.

Cozier-Duberry has shown at youth level that he is more than capable of both finishing and creating chances in attack.

Judging by his performances in the summer, that could translate to senior football as well, which could make him a big asset in the Championship for a club such as Rovers.

There is a shortage of wide options at Ewood Park, and some of those they do have are not always consistent in terms of their goal contributions.

The addition of someone who has shown the potential to make that impact in front of goal in Cozier-Duberry, could therefore be a major boost.

Blackburn also have plenty of positive history with Brighton when it comes to the transfer window over the past few years.

Jan Paul van Hecke, Reda Khadra, Andrew Moran and Yasin Ayari have all enjoyed spells on loan with Rovers from the Seagulls recently, and that too could help them to negotiate a deal here.
