TF1 in France, El Chiringuito in Spain and talkSPORT in the UK all released simultaneous stories on Tuesday claiming that Real Madrid had made a bid for the striker.

TF1 then claimed that the bid had been rejected while Fabrizio Romano revealed that there was ‘no green light’ from PSG.

Sky Sports then entered the picture to say that PSG were ‘yet to respond’ to an offer that was made two days ago but that Mbappé had told them ‘his dream was to play for Real Madrid’.

All this in the space of around 30 minutes.

The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabèu but financial pressures caused by the building of their new stadium and the pandemic have meant Florentino Perez’s side have been held off from their dream man.

Mbappé admitted in an interview with Esquire earlier this week that Ligue 1 “was not a top championship” and revealed for the first time that he was aware of interest from the Spanish capital.

But PSG are reportedly keen to keep hold of their young star despite signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona earlier this month.
