Here is the best XI from Day One and Day Two of Euro 2020.
The Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper was the hero for debutants Finland after making six saves against Denmark, including a penalty, which saw them hold on for a historic 1-0 win.
Came on as a substitute in the first half for the injured Timothy Castagne and instantly made an impact. Finished with a goal and an assist. Talk about making your mark!
Handled Russia’s attack with ease. Was calm and composed throughout the 90 minutes to help Belgium earn a clean sheet. Solid performance from the veteran.
A staple in Italy’s backline as always. Was a physical threat and silenced the in-form Burak Yilmaz which was key to the result against Turkey.
Was a big presence down the wing for the Italians throughout 90 minutes. Offered himself both in attack and defence with two shots, three dribbles and one aerial won.
The younger Hazard earns a spot after a promising performance against Russia. Slick passing, completed two dribbles, one tackle and had one assist over a full 90 minutes.
Was the maestro for Italy against Turkey and arguably had one of the best midfield performances over the opening two days. Dictated tempo and controlled the ball to help dominate their opponents.
Acted as one part of Italy’s dynamic midfield and paired well with Jorginho and Manuel Locatelli. Managed to play the full 90 minutes and continues his good form with Inter into the national team.
With one goal and one assist, Ciro Immobile earned our Man of the Match honours against Turkey.
His individual performance helped them kick-start the Euros in Rome with a historic win.
After an incredible season with Inter, Romelu Lukaku’s top form continues into the Euros.
His striker instincts were well on display against Russia and the Man of the Match walked away with the first brace of the tournament.
Earned our Man of the Match honours against Wales as he was the main attacking outlet for Switzerland and scored his first major tournament goal. Definitely a future star to watch!
