“Liverpool, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Juventus were interested,” the Poland midfielder told Kanal Sportowy, as quoted by fcinter1908.

“I received a specific offer from Barcelona, but I like Italy. I settled in well at Napoli, and it would have been difficult for me to go to England.

“I would have considered Spain, but my priority was to continue my career in Italy. Now I am at Inter, but I would have been happy to extend my contract with Napoli.”

Zielinski has been living in Italy since 2011 when he joined Udinese U19 from Polish side Lubin.

He has played for Udinese, Empoli, Napoli and Inter.

He won the Serie A title at the Stadio Maradona in 2022-23 and has 44 goals and 49 assists in 371 appearances in Italy’s top flight.

Zielinski didn’t extend his contract with Napoli last summer, joining Inter as a free agent instead.

This term, he has already scored two goals in 12 appearances across all competitions with the Nerazzurri.

His contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2028.
