As Real Madrid begin to prepare for a new chapter under Xabi Alonso, fresh ideas are already being put forward to shape the squad.
According to Fichajes, one name suggested by Alonso to reinforce the attack that has caught many by surprise is former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
The Spanish coach has made it clear that he wants a centre-forward who can make an impact inside the box.
With Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe likely to lead the wings, Alonso is seeking a striker who can not only finish chances but also link play, create space, and allow the team to stay fluid in attack.
Currently playing for Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, Firmino is reportedly open to a move back to Europe after just one season in the Middle East.
At 33, he still brings the qualities Alonso wants. It is even possible that Firmino could terminate his current contract, making him a free agent and easing any transfer complications.

His stats back up the interest. In 31 matches this season, Firmino scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists, proving he remains a valuable contributor when used correctly.
For Alonso, his tactical awareness and ability to play between the lines could be the perfect complement to Mbappe and Vinicius.
While Firmino would not be expected to start every game, his role would be crucial in certain situations, whether to unlock tight defences or help manage high-pressure fixtures.
Real Madrid already have firepower, but the addition of a seasoned forward like Firmino could give them more flexibility.
The final decision will rest on the terms of Firmino’s release from Al Ahli and whether the move makes financial sense.
But with Alonso aiming to add balance and variety to the squad, Firmino may turn out to be one of the most clever signings of the summer.
