Xabi Alonso confirms Real Madrid star’s future U-turn | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has confirmed that a member of the club’s midfield ranks is now definitively set to stay put for the season ahead.

The player in question? Dani Ceballos.

The name of former Arsenal man Ceballos has of course dominated the headlines in Spain’s capital across the week to date.

As much comes after the 29-year-old initially appeared to be on the verge of an imminent move to France, with Olympique Marseille.

Just when it seemed as though the deal was tied up between the parties, however, Ceballos himself pulled the plug.

Speaking to the media in his latest press conference on Friday, it therefore came as little surprise when Xabi Alonso was asked if his midfield star could therefore be headed elsewhere before the deadline.

Real’s headmaster, though, went on to confirm:

“I spoke the other day with Dani Ceballos. It’s been resolved. He’s staying.”
