Cole Palmer was spotted limping as he left Stamford Bridge following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues once again showed they were able to compete with one of the best sides in the league, but there will be a sense of frustration they weren’t able to record a statement win.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring, but Pedro Neto equalised with a brilliant effort and the point sees Chelsea move into third place heading into the international break.

The build-up to the game was dominated by whether Palmer was going to be fit or not having been on the receiving end of a reckless challenge from Lisandro Martinez in the draw against Manchester United.

Enzo Maresca gave very little away when questioned in the week, but when the team news dropped Palmer was in the starting line-up.

How fit Palmer was is unclear and he did complete the ninety minutes, but other than a brilliant effort early on he didn’t have much of an impact on proceedings for the second consecutive week.

After the game journalist Rahman Osman shared a video of Palmer limping as he was leaving Stamford Bridge, showing he may still be feeling the effects of the challenge from Martinez.

Palmer has had a quiet last couple of games but he’s still been Chelsea’s main man this season and has seven goals and five assists from 11 games.

He’s been tipped as a future Ballon d’Or winner by club legend Gianfranco Zola, whilst Premier League legend Alan Shearer described him as an incredible player following the recent win against Newcastle.

It’s now an international break and Chelsea aren’t back in action until the 23rd of November away at Leicester, but it will be interesting to see if Palmer joins up with England.

The Blues face a more favourable run of fixtures after the break and they will be hoping Palmer can get back to his best form.
