The curtain has come down on the Women's Under-15s inter-regional phase. The second and most important part of the season, that began in February, after the first part ended in December, saw the Rossonere shine once again. Last weekend's win in Sarnico (3-1, thanks to Elshamy's brace and Carco's goal) reaffirmed our position at the top of Group B. It has been a great year: 34 points in 14 games, 11 wins, one draw and two losses, the best goal difference (+30), the best defence with 11 goals conceded and the second best attack with 41 goals scored. Ahead of both Südtirol and Inter in the table by a decent margin. Despite a few difficulties against Südtirol (1-3 and 2-2), our two wins in the Derby at home (2-1 and 2-0) will no doubt be remembered. In general, the team's real strengths are in their performances, attitude and clinical play.
This are Simone Sacchi's exclusive words: "The season has been extremely positive so far, from all points of view. The initial goal was to create a cohesive and united group, trying to make all the girls feel involved: it is something that had definitely made the difference in this long and tiring season, everything then became much easier. The inter-regional group was competitive and balanced, so we are definitely proud of finishing first. The team has shown their character, talent and maturity".
Their next opposition will be Sampdoria in the quarter-finals. Both the first and second leg will take place at the start of next month: "Now we are excited for the next phase, we are ambitious and we want to go as far as possible. The girls have shown they have all the right things to have big dreams. Even throughout the year, in different tournaments, we have had some great results. We are very proud of the journey that we are on".
