However, the likes of England, France, Germany and Sweden have all put in strong performances during the group stage.

With the knockout phase beginning on Wednesday, below we look at the Women’s Euro 2025 team of the tournament so far.

Women’s Euro 2025 team of the tournament

GK: Jennifer Falk (Sweden)

Sweden goalkeeper Jennifer Falk has been one of her country’s star performers so far at Euro 2025.

She has been kept busy making three saves against Germany, two against Poland and three against Denmark.

As per FotMob, she is the best-performing goalkeeper at Euro 2025 with an average rating of 7.96 across three matches.

RB: Lucy Bronze (England)

Lucy Bronze makes the selection despite a difficult opening game against France.

The Chelsea right-back recovered with two strong displays in England’s victories over Wales and the Netherlands.

She pips new Iman Beney to this selection, with the new Manchester City signing putting in some solid displays for hosts Switzerland.

CB: Irene Paredes (Spain)

Irene Parades missed Spain’s opening game against Portugal but impressed in their following two fixtures.

During the 6-2 victory over Belgium, she found the back of the net, made six recoveries and three clearances.

In the 3-1 win over Italy, she made eight ball recoveries, two blocks and five clearances.

CB: Nathalie Bjorn (Sweden)

No team has looked more assured at the back at Euro 2025 than Sweden, and Nathalie Bjorn’s efforts are a big reason why.

The Chelsea defender looked unbeatable during their 3-0 victory over Poland and 1-0 triumph against Denmark.

Against Poland, she made seven recoveries and six clearances. She has not been dribbled past yet across her three games at Euro 2025.

LB: Sakina Karchaoui (France)

Sakina Karchaoui is the standout left-back at the tournament so far, although Alex Greenwood has also impressed for England.

The PSG full-back produced an excellent display against the Netherlands in which she scored and registered an assist.

Karchaoui has also done a job defensively for France, who finished top of Group D ahead of England.

CM: Geraldine Reuteler (Switzerland)

Geraldine Reuteler was named Player of the Match in each of Switzerland’s group stage outings, as they reached the knockout phase of the Women’s Euros for the first time in their history.

The Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder ranks second for tackles, third for interceptions and fourth for how often she has won possession.

Reuteler also scored a brilliant goal in Switzerland’s victory against Iceland.

CM: Patricia Guijarro (Spain)

According to Euro 2025 stats, no player has completed more passes at Women’s Euro 2025 than Spain midfielder Patricia Gujiarro.

She has been crucial for Spain in their build-up play and also scored in their 3-1 victory against Italy.

With Spain the favourites to win the tournament according to the UK’s best betting sites, Guijarro is likely to be at the top of many passing statistics leaderboards by the end of Euro 2025.

CM: Alexia Putellas (Spain)

Spain star Alexia Putellas is undoubtedly the favourite to win the Player of the Tournament award after a stunning start to Euro 2025.

With three goals and four assists, she has three more goal contributions than any other player in Switzerland.

Should Spain win Euro 2025, it would cement her place as favourite to win the Ballon d’Or award.

RW: Dephine Cascarino (France)

Perhaps the position in this XI with the most fierce competition given the excellent performances by Germany’s Jule Brand, and England’s Lauren James.

Delphine Cascarino gets the nod with four goal contributions in two matches after sitting out the game against Wales.

She provided an assist in the 2-1 win over England, before scoring twice and registering another assist against the Netherlands.

FC: Alessia Russo (England)

Perhaps a controversial selection given that Spain’s Esther Gonzalez has scored four goals compared to Alessia Russo’s one.

But Russo’s all-around game at Euro 2025 has been excellent and with a bit more luck she would have three goals after having two disallowed.

Russo has linked up well with her attacking teammates and provided three assists in the 4-0 win over the Netherlands.

LW: Mariona Caldentey (Spain)

Russo’s Arsenal teammate Mariona Caldentey completes the Women’s Euro 2025 team of the group stage.

The 29-year-old was exceptional for Arsenal in the Champions League and has carried over her performances to Spain this summer.

She has two goals and one assist to her name, and will be another contender for the Ballon d’Or should Spain lift the trophy.
