Wolves have gone in with a ‘concrete offer’ for an attacking target who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Molineux outfit are now looking to bring in fresh faces after they lost two of their star players so early in the summer transfer window.
Manchester City have bought Algerian left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, while Manchester United secured their superstar forward Matheus Cunha.
Wolves pocketed a substantial £62.5m for the Brazilian and now will need to replace the 26-year-old.
Fer Lopez is expected to arrive from Celta Vigo, with a move advanced.
Jorgen Strand Larsen’s signature has been made permanent and now another forward is being looked at ahead of the new season.
That has seen Wolves look towards Tottenham target and France-born Ivory Coast striker Evann Guessand.
Now matters have cranked up a notch as, according to Africafoot, Wolves have sent an ‘official offer’ to Nice for their 23-year-old forward Guessand.
It has been suggested that Nice are looking for offers around £26m to let go of Guessand, who has no shortage of suitors.
It was suggested recently that Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce have also made an offer for the Nice hitman.
However, it is not clear how much Wolves have offered for the Ivorian, amid the bid from Jose Mourinho’s side.
It also remains to be seen whether Wolves’ firming up their interest leads to Tottenham getting involved.
Spurs want a forward and have also shown interest in Bryan Mbeumo, but he looks to be Manchester United bound.
