Kicker confirms a report originating from Polish online news portal Meczyki.pl regarding the future of VfL Wolfsburg winger Jakub Kaminski. The 18-times-capped Polish international – like VfL loanee Salih Özcan on Tuesday – may be on the way out of the northern Autostadt before the transfer window closes. Kaminski has 61 Bundesliga appearances to his credit, including 13 league deployments this year.

Not long ago, Kaminski’s status with Germany’s green company team was quite different. VfL head-coach Ralph Hasenhüttl declared himself very impressed with the 22-year-old’s performance in summer training camp. Unfortunately, Hasenhüttl’s attempts to convert Kaminski to a left-fullback proved unsuccessful. A foot injury at the turn of the calendar year hasn’t helped matters.

Kaminski’s prospects of fighting his way back into the starting XI now appear bleaker than ever. Tiago Tomas and Patrick Wimmer already stand ahead of him on the depth chart. Hasenhüttl’s recent use of Mohamed Amoura on the wings introduces more competition, as does the recent arrival of Andreas Skov Olsen. Additionally, American talent Kevin Paredes is soon due back from injury.

Kicker notes that a loan to Olympiacos Piraeus is being discussed. Such a deal will have to be completed before the Greek transfer window closes on January 31st. Kaminski remains a €10m investment for die Wölfe following his purchase from Lech Poznan two winters ago. At present, he’s ascribed an estimated €6m market worth.
