Orlando City SC is always happy and hopeful about their signings. Here’s one that also has them excited.

Croatian international winger Marco Pasalic signed with Orlando City SC and caused a stir in the front office, among scouts, and coaches.

Pasalic is a more experienced winger to go with recently signed Nicolas Rodriguez.  When both are on the pitch, that gives the Lions twin offensive dynamos. Rodriguez is a proven asset in creating chances. Pasalic has numbers showing he knows how to take those chances and convert them to goals and assists.

Supporters will have to wait and see what this does to Orlando’s arsenal of formations. Last season they worked a variety of formations including the back three at times. But by August, they had locked in the variations of the 4-3-3 in a plan to save space.

The plan worked. They finished the season fourth in the MLS Eastern Conference.

Marco Pasalic fits into those types of schemes. Plus he has the mind for the South American Attack, as Atlanta United scouts call Orlando City's match strategy.

That strategy calls for pervasive but level-headed aggression on the pitch. That type of aggression is identified in Pasalic.

He focuses on taking on defenders and presents a constant threat on the goal, as observed by Luiz Muzzi, Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations and General Manager. He adds that Pasalic demonstrates a competitive drive that fits well into the culture that Orlando City has built.

The German native made 11 appearances for Croatia’s National Team across all age levels. But he caught the eyes of scouts for the Lions in the European leagues. That includes appearances for Borussia Dortmund and matches in the DLF-Supercup. He has appearances in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers while with HNK Rijeka.

In professional matches he has tallied 44 goals and 28 assists.

Those numbers demonstrate that Marco Pasalic has the mind and ability to produce offense for Orlando City SC. So get ready.
