Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini has undergone nose surgery to repair an old nasal fracture, with the 29-year-old not present as the Giallorossi began their pre-season training camp today.
The Roman club kicked off their 2025-26 season today with a training camp at Trigoria but the club captain was absent – despite recovering from the injury that kept him out of the final games of the 2024-25 season.

According to Italian newspaper the Corriere dello Sport, Pellegrini was expected to return for the first training session of the season but chose to undergo the operation in order to maintain a high level of personal fitness.
The septoplasty aimed to repair a past fracture but the midfielder is not expected to suffer any long-term absence as a result of the routine procedure.
