An insight into the general feeling at La Liga giants Real Madrid regarding the impending departure of Joselu has today been provided.

The name of veteran frontman Joselu has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the week to date.

As much comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 34-year-old has come to the decision to take his talents to Qatar.

Joselu, for his part, spent this past season on loan at Real Madrid.

And, despite playing a backup role, his efforts proved invaluable, en route to an impressive 17-goal haul across all competitions.

It had, in turn, long been assured that Joselu himself only had eyes for Los Blancos, with a view to next season.

As a result, it came as nothing short of a shock when word surfaced that the Spanish international had instead opted for monetary gain, upon agreeing to the terms of a two-year deal with Qatari outfit Al Gharafa.

And, safe to say, those in a position of power at Real Madrid are of the opinion that Joselu is making a mistake.

As per a report from Relevo, the board at the Santiago Bernabéu view their departing attacker’s decision to move on as ‘bad for the club and bad for the player’.

Joselu, it is suggested, would have been afforded a far more prominent role than he would have perhaps expected in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad next season.

This comes owing to his different characteristics to the rest of the attacking options on Real’s books.

The general feeling is therefore that both parties would have benefitted from their relationship continuing for another 12 months, at which point Joselu then could have taken up one of a number of offers from the Middle East.
