Alberto Costa remains the only Juventus January signing yet to make his debut for the club, with reports suggesting that coach Thiago Motta has taken a cautious approach for tactical reasons—though this may change soon.
The Portuguese right-back has been benched for six consecutive games since moving to the Allianz Stadium during the winter transfer window, a decision that raised eyebrows considering the €15 million investment the Bianconeri made to sign him from Vitória SC.
While other new arrivals, such as Randal Kolo Muani, Lloyd Kelly, and Renato Veiga, have already had opportunities, Alberto Costa appears to be taking longer to earn his manager’s trust.

According to Il Bianconero, Thiago Motta and his staff are intensively working on strengthening the 21-year-old’s defensive skills, which is considered crucial for his integration into Juventus’ tactical system.
However, the wait is expected to end soon, as reports indicate that Alberto Costa may make his first appearance in the Coppa Italia quarter-final against Empoli at the Allianz Stadium.

While Timothy Weah and Andrea Cambiaso are expected to start, the Portuguese defender could see playing time as a substitute, depending on how the match unfolds.
