Thiago Motta is suspended for Juventus’s upcoming Serie A match at home against Venezia on Saturday evening, so he will be replaced in the dugout by his assistant Alexandre Hugeux. Here is everything you need to know about the Frenchman.

Who is Juventus’s replacement for Thiago Motta?

Hugeux has stood alongside Motta for the vast majority of his coaching career to date.

Motta and Hugeux took charge of their first senior side together at Spezia for the 2021-22 season. Huguex also followed Motta to Bologna, where they were employed between 2022 and 2024.

Huguex has stood in for Motta once previously in Serie A while they were both still at Bologna. Motta was also suspended for the Serie A match between Bologna and Sassuolo in March 2024, which the Rossoblu won 4-2 at home.

The Frenchman received glowing reviews during Thiago Motta’s most recent press conference.

Huguex was described as “a person I trust 1000%, a person who is top, not just in football.”

Motta continued: “I am happy to be working together, the good work that we have done so far is also thanks to hi,. He works hard, has great knowledge and he is top in terms of human qualities.”
