Manchester City come into today’s derby with only one win in their past ten matches. They fell to a 2-nil defeat to Juventus on Wednesday evening during their last match. But despite their poor results, there have been signs that Pep Guardiola’s side has been getting back into form. In each of their past two games against Crystal Palace and Juventus, there have been snippets of quality from the world champions. The hope is that they can turn those snippets into a 90-minute performance today. If they do they may well beat Manchester United and begin to turn the corner.

But despite the hype that comes with playing Manchester United the City legend insists that doesn’t change his approach to the game. Speaking on the derby, De Bruyne said: “I understand it is a big game, I understand the significance of winning that game, and I understand the bragging rights that it gives the supporters. It doesn’t change what I do because it is a big game worth three points.”

Today’s Manchester derby is another big game for Manchester City. Whatever happens today they simply must beat Manchester United.
