The USA international won his fourth straight domestic title in a row with the club this weekend and with that, moving the Bhoys onto 55 in their history.
The big strong man has been a mainstay of this current Celtic team for some years and without his strength and commitment at the back, we wouldn’t have achieved the success we have recently. Rodgers men sealed the deal this past Saturday by scalping Jim Goodwin’s Dundee United side 5-0, on what was another fantastic title-winning moment for the club under the Irishman.

One thing that has irked the supporters this year though, is the fact that we have lost twice to the Ibrox outfit and conceded three goals on both occasions which has been concerning. That has led some to suggest remarkably though that the Rangers are actually a better side than ourselves – which is ridiculous, of course. Carter-Vickers though, has revealed that Celtic have proven that we are the best team in the country over the piece and have nothing to prove in Govan next weekend.
“Yes. I mean, some people might say set the record (straight). I wouldn’t personally use that kind of language because for me, it’s not just like one or two games in the season, but the whole 38. And I think we’ve shown over the 38 games that we are the best team. But, yeah, we definitely want to win the game next weekend and put in a strong performance because, at the end of the day, we know it’s something that the fans care about and we care about also.

“Of course we want to win. We want to win every game we play. And that’s no different for who it is. We’ll have a couple of days where we can celebrate winning the league and then our full focus will be on that game and trying to win it,” he said as reported by Daily Record.
With all the chat and controversy in the light of Celtic potentially securing another Treble, suggesting that it was somehow tedious, CCV insisted he will never tire of winning silverware.
“I don’t think so,” he said. “Especially with the league. When you get around the stage where you can clinch the title and get that tied up, you definitely look forward to it because it just shows the effort and all the hard work we’ve put in for months now. That’s kind of the ribbon on the achievement if you want.

“That’s why for me, the league is so special. You don’t win a league unless you have been giving it 100 per cent right from pre-season, which I’m sure if you ask most of the boys now, they couldn’t even remember what was going on there. But it all counts. We know that, that’s how we go into every season and it shows at this time of year. There are still four games left to play and we want to finish strong, with the cup final as well. But I think we can be satisfied with our league campaign so far.”
