The need to strengthen the attack has returned to the agenda of several mid-table English sides, and one of them is moving with determination. West Ham United have struggled with finishing this season.
Niclas Fullkrug’s inconsistency and Evan Ferguson’s lack of influence have left Graham Potter’s side without clear answers in the final third of the pitch. Against this backdrop, the management has begun to look for alternatives with depth, strength and character. The summer transfer window presents itself as a key opportunity to take that necessary step.
As reported by Football Insider, former scout Mick Brown, who has had spells at Manchester United and Aston Villa, has claimed that the Hammers are considering a move for Tammy Abraham. The England striker, currently at Roma but on loan at Milan, has been on the London club’s radar for some time.

West Ham have sent scouts to follow his progress in Italy and have joined other Premier League sides seriously assessing his return. Brown said the 27-year-old has the attributes Potter is looking for to revamp his attacking line.
From a footballing point of view, Abraham would fit what West Ham need: someone uncomfortable for defences, with the ability to cause trouble for centre-backs and with international experience. His time at Milan, although discreet in terms of numbers, has allowed him to keep up with the pace of competition in a demanding environment.
In addition, Abraham’s past in English football offers him a plus: he knows the pace, the pressure and the demands of the League. However, there are reasonable doubts: is he physically ready to compete at the highest level after an inconsistent year, will his style fit in with Potter’s plan, which calls for more mobility and play between the lines?
On the other hand, interest from Leeds could complicate the deal. Both clubs have similar figures, although West Ham can offer a more attractive project in the immediate future. What could tip the balance is the player’s desire? If Abraham prioritises returning to West Ham and playing at a stadium where he was once a rival, the Hammers will have the upper hand. Still, there is no guarantee. English football has changed in its intensity, and Tammy will need to prove he is ready to make an immediate impact. If West Ham can pull off this signing, it will be a gamble with risk, but also with meaning.
