West Ham United have enquired about signing Marseille midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
The Hammers are in dire need of reinforcements in the middle of the park following a woeful start to 2025-26.
The Hammers lost their opening two games of the new Premier League season to Sunderland and Chelsea, and manager Graham Potter is under pressure.
They need to improve their squad, and Rabiot is on their radar after Marseille decided to sell him.
The 30-year-old France international has been told to leave after he was involved in a post-match altercation with Jonathan Rowe two weeks ago.
However, West Ham are not the only club keen on Rabiot, with Galatasaray, Aston Villa and Inter Milan monitoring developments.
Rabiot brings much-needed experience to the table as he ‘works incredibly hard and covers a lot of ground’.
He has played almost 500 games across Ligue 1 and Serie A, with six titles to his name, and the Hammers need him in their midfield.
Rabiot is strong aerially, while his tackling and overall defensive ability make him an ideal fit for the Premier League.
Beating fierce competition to sign him could be a game-changer for the Hammers, but it is unclear if he is open to joining them.
Their last two games underlined the need to sign a midfielder if they want to avoid a relegation battle this season, and Potter needs to get a quality option in the position within the next seven days.
West Ham have been linked with several midfielders this summer, but they rejected the chance to sign former Chelsea star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall several weeks ago.
The Blues wanted to include the former Leicester City midfielder as a makeweight to sign Mohammed Kudus.
However, the Hammers sold him to Tottenham Hotspur, while Dewsbury-Hall has since joined Everton.
