West Ham United left-back Emerson Palmieri has transfer interest from Italy, with Lazio reportedly eyeing a move to sign him this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), West Ham want €10 million to let Palmieri, who has a year left on his contract, go.

The Hammers left-back, who earns £95,000 per week, previously worked with Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea and would slot in seamlessly into his style of football.

The 30-year-old defender has been a faithful servant to West Ham since he arrived in 2022. Former boss David Moyes hailed him as someone who ‘brings a winning mentality‘.

Palmieri has made over 100 appearances for the club, including that infamous night as the Irons lifted the Europa Conference League.

However, the time for West Ham to part ways with Palmieri and refresh the left-back position might be now, especially if Lazio can match the asking price.

With Palmieri attracting interest from Lazio, West Ham may need to act quickly to secure a new left-back. One name that should be high on their list is Leif Davis.

The Ipswich Town defender endured relegation with the Tractor Boys, but his performances stood out in a struggling side.

A return to the Premier League seems inevitable, and West Ham would be wise to make that move theirs.

The 25-year-old was one of the league’s most dynamic wide defenders for much of the campaign.

He racked up 12 big chances created, added a goal, and offered pinpoint deliveries both from open play and set-pieces.

Davis held his own defensively, winning 59% of aerial duels and 53% of ground challenges in the top flight.

His blend of work rate, technical quality, and athleticism makes him an ideal fit for the progressive full-back role under manager Graham Potter.

Affordable, Premier League-proven, and with ample room for improvement, Davis could be the long-term answer at left-back that West Ham need if Palmieri moves on.
