The Baggies will be led by former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason, who takes charge at The Hawthorns in his first permanent managerial stint.

The 34-year-old will be hopeful of delivering success for the Albion faithful after a disappointing end to last season under Tony Mowbray, that saw the Black Country outfit fall short in their quest for the play-offs.

Albion will be spending their fifth straight season in the Championship, and are hopeful of being busy this summer, with plenty of incomings and outgoings expected to help strike the perfect balance in the playing squad.

One player who has been touted for a move away from B71 is exciting youngster Isaac Price, who showcased his early potential in the blue and white stripes last term.

Promoted duo Sunderland and Burnley are reportedly interested in a summer move for the 21-year-old, with the Northern Ireland international backed to be a success stepping into the top-flight.

Originally signing on a four-and-a-half-year deal, the Baggies could draw a significant fee out of a sale, but the club should be aiming to rebuff offers and build a team around him to help achieve their own Premier League ambitions.

Isaac Price’s early impact at West Brom

Isaac Price arrived to the West Midlands in the latter stages of last season’s winter window from Standard Liege, where he had established himself as a first-team regular in the Belgian Pro League.

After starting on the bench for his opening two matches, Price would be integrated into a starting role and would begin to show off his raw talent.

While his attacking contributions weren’t at the level his performances deserved, the 21-year-old notched his first assist for the club in a 2-0 win over Oxford United, while he celebrated his first goal for the Baggies with a sensational dipping effort in a home draw with Hull City.

Price has left the Albion faithful impressed by his early spell, with his relentless ability in the press, willingness to get on the ball and versatility to play in numerous positions, some superb attributes to possess at this level.

In only 15 appearances, Price has occupied roles as a number ten, in central midfield, on either wing and even as a right-back, with the latter the position he played in when grabbing his debut goal for the club.

At the age of 21, Isaac Price is nowhere near the finished article, but he’s shown promising signs that he can develop into a top talent and become a valued asset in this West Brom team.

Ryan Mason will certainly be eyeing Price up as a player to help aid their creative woes and will be keen to develop a system that can get the best out of his skillset.

While the Baggies may be tempted to cash in on Price due to the financial struggles they remain in, ultimately, Price was brought for a long-term project, with Sporting Director Andrew Nestor revealing the long process it took to recruit the midfielder to the club when he signed on the dotted line.

With it taking so long to identify and sign Price, Albion would surely not want to sell so quickly, and should instead rebuff offers and add other attacking-minded players around him so he can thrive and help push the club towards its Premier League target.

With further experience at this level under stable management, Price could end up blossoming into one of the Championship’s big stars next season, and Albion should do all they can to keep him at the club so they can be the beneficiaries of a potential breakthrough.
