Tijjani Reijnders is currently at the Euros with the Netherlands, having reached the semi-finals, but the midfielder is also keeping a close eye on Milan. Indeed, as stated in a post-match interview last night, he’s looking forward to next season.

Reijnders has been a key player for Ronald Koeman’s side this tournament and it has certainly been his breakthrough on the big scene. Many football fans have fallen in love with the player and it’s safe to say Milan got a bargain at around €20m last summer.

Paulo Fonseca arrived in Milano yesterday and the first training session will take place tomorrow. Reijnders won’t be there, of course, but the midfielder has already spoken to the Portuguese manager and he’s looking forward to the upcoming season.

“If I have spoken to Fonseca? Yeah, I spoke to the coach and I’m looking forward to the new season with the new ideas from the coach. After the holiday, I can’t wait to start,” he told SportItalia.

Indeed, Reijnders will be a key player for Milan and Fonseca this upcoming season. It remains to be seen if he will get a slightly more advanced role as he clearly thrives there, while the Rossoneri are also looking to add a defensive midfielder.
