Well-known Barcelona-based journalist Gerard Romero has over the last 24 hours turned heads across the Blaugrana’s fanbase.

This comes after the Jijantes reporter, bizarrely, called Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries to question him on a potential Camp Nou switch.

The name of wing-back Dumfries has emerged as a prominent one in Barcelona over the last couple of days, amid the widespread understanding that Deco and co. are giving consideration to sanctioning a summer move for his signature.

The Dutch international is said to have been offered to Hansi Flick and co. by super agent Jorge Mendes.

Keen to gather further information on the matter, the aforementioned Gerard Romero therefore went out of his way to make contact with Dumfries himself.

During a stream on his official Twitch channel, the Blaugrana insider, in possession of the 29-year-old’s phone number, called to quiz Dumfries on the chances of him landing in Catalunya over the weeks ahead.

And the Inter standout went on to answer, albeit only before explaining:

“I’m on holiday now, so I really can’t speak. I’m sorry, thanks for calling. Bye, bye.”
