Viola’s Cagliari contract expires at the end of the month, and the experienced attacking midfielder had prioritised his stay in Sardinia.

However, with the club unlikely to extend the agreement, Viola could consider offers from other clubs.

Neither the player nor his club have yet made a final decision.

Surely, Viola had received an offer from the newly promoted side, Pisa, as the Nerazzurri’s former coach, Pippo Inzaghi, is one of his admirers.

Inzaghi has left Pisa after securing Serie A promotion and signed for Serie B side Palermo.

Viola scored three goals and provided one assist in 28 appearances for Cagliari in 2024-25.

He moved to Sardinia on a free transfer from Bologna in 2022.
