Vinícius in Flamengo's sights

Vinícius could soon be back playing on the pitches of his homeland.

According to several local media outlets, Flamengo have opened talks with Shakhtar Donetsk over a loan move for young Brazilian right-back Vinícius Tobias. Developed at Internacional de Porto Alegre, Tobias joined the Ukrainian club at a young age before spending two seasons on loan at Real Madrid Castilla (2022-2024), where he impressed with his attacking prowess and defensive versatility.

Flamengo, on the lookout for reinforcements down the right flank, see him as the ideal profile: young, dynamic, and already equipped with valuable international experience. The Carioca club's sporting director, José Boto, is personally leading the negotiations. His strong relationship with the player's camp as well as with Shakhtar's management could pave the way for a deal in the coming weeks.
