Villarreal to close deal for former Real Madrid talent ‘in the coming hours’ | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Villarreal are on the verge of closing a deal to add to the club’s defensive options.

That’s according to transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who has confirmed that one-time Real Madrid talent Rafa Marín is the player all set to link up with Marcelino’s squad.

Stopper Marín for his part sealed a move to Italy over the summer, snapped up by Napoli after a stellar 2023/24 campaign on loan at Deportivo Alavés.

The 22-year-old’s time in Serie A, however, has since proven to be of an altogether disappointing nature.

In fact, Marín is yet to even take to the pitch in league play in Napoli colours.

In turn, it should not come as much of a surprise to hear of the Spaniard preparing for an imminent return to his home country.

As per a report from the aforementioned Matteo Moretto:

‘Villarreal will finalise the final details of Rafa Marín’s loan in the next few hours.’
