Inter centre-forward Mehdi Taremi took just two minutes of the second half of the Supercoppa Italiana final to double his side’s advantage against their city rivals Milan, following Lautaro Martinez’s first-half opener.

It was a straight-forward routine for the second goal: The Nerazzurri went direct. Stefan De Vrij’s ball over the top spilt the two Milan centre-backs, Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw, and Taremi was on hand to latch on to it and apply the finishing touches past Mike Maignan.

Coincidentally, Taremi is playing against his former Porto coach Sergio onceicao, under whom the Iranian averaged a goal every other game in Portugal.
