The Mexico international only made the transfer a few days before the first leg, which saw the Rossoneri lose 1-0 in Rotterdam.

He won the corner after 15 seconds at San Siro, then was ready to nod in when Malick Thiaw headed down a Christian Pulisic cross from the Theo Hernandez set play.

Gimenez refused to celebrate against his former teammates and supporters, but it was his third goal in just four competitive games in the Milan jersey.
