Until the final decision is made and announced, where Leicester legend Jamie Vardy plays next will remain of interest for City fans. While emotional, most admit that it's time for the longtime Foxes' striker to move on. While not the best available option for clubs to upgrade their squad with, someone will be able to provide a suitable landing spot for the 38-year-old.

The main reason for his leaving appears to be the desire to continue playing in the English Premier League. With LCFC unable to stay up and already solidifying their status as a relegated team, that isn't possible with the East Midlands side any longer.

One team that is reportedly interested in Vardy is Wolverhampton Wanderers. According to Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke, the striker is part of the summer plans for Wolves in the upcoming transfer window. The ability to sign the EPL star for free is apparently too much to pass up for WOL.

This fit would make sense. They are expected to lose Matheus Cunha to Manchester United any day now. Having another year in the Prem, they will look to take another step forward under Vítor Pereira. While not an exact one-for-one swap in terms of position in the potential lineup, Vardy's inclusion in the Portuguese manager's system could help make up for the production that is about to be lost.

Unfortunately for City fans, this report, more than anything, should show how much of a disaster this current season has been. Few players are able to stick with one club as a professional and retire in the same team colors. If it hadn't been for the terrible run of results that resulted in a deserved Championship demotion, it appears that Vardy would have been more than willing to stick around King Power Stadium.

Past Leicester encounter sets up potential torn fanbase

While at one point he may have shown Wolves fans some antics, including howling and indicating a strong stench, that is part of the sport. Particularly in heated, emotional moments, players will often do something that matches the passion and intensity of the moment.

For players, they are able to quickly move on and focus on the task at hand. In the case of Wolves supporters, as long as he continues to give it his all and adds some splendid goals to boot, those instances will soon be forgiven as well. Maybe never forgotten, but the focus will shift to the upcoming campaign in the event of a move to Wolverhampton.
