Valencia star Giorgi Mamardashvili has provided an insight into his future with the club.
As much comes fresh off another stellar display on the part of the Georgian between the posts.
En route to Valencia’s goalless stalemate with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, Mamardashvili proved himself the star of the show for Los Che, producing a number of impressive saves.
Such exploits gave rise to calls of ‘Giorgi, stay’ stemming from the home crowd in attendance at Mestalla, across the 90 minutes.
Mamardashvili has been tipped for a potential Valencia exit for some time now, having established himself as one of Spanish football’s standout shot-stoppers.
Speaking to Movistar, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, post-match on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his plans beyond the summer was put to the 23-year-old himself.
And Mamardashvili’s response proved something of a mixed bag, with the Georgian international eager to stay put, but adamant that the situation is out of his control.
“My dream is to stay at Valencia for many years, but it doesn’t depend on me,” he admitted.
