All 16 MLS teams competing in the U.S. Open Cup now know where they will be playing their first matches in the nation's oldest contested soccer competition.
The draw for the fourth round -- the round of 32, and the first in which MLS teams enter the fray -- was completed on Thursday morning. As a newer feature of the competition, every MLS club was guaranteed to be drawn against a club from a lower division.
Here's some of the most intriuging meetings for the round of games, to be played on May 6-7:
Rhode Island will welcome its MLS neighbors just 20 miles to the Northeast in what will be the second-ever game played at their new, 10,500-seat Centerville Bank Stadium. Rhode Island will open their home league slate the weekend before.
The Seattle Sounders aren't among the teams competing in the USOC this year, but Portland will be plenty motivated to have a strong showing against Tacoma, Seattle's MLS Next Pro side and the only one from the third-tier competition to reach the fourth round.
Tampa Bay of the USL looks to finally end its long losing run in a reprisal of the I-4 Derby against its nearest MLS neighbor, Orlando City SC. Their last meeting came in the third round of the 2022 tournament, which Orlando won 2-1 at home on goals from Pato and Junior Urso.
The complete schedule was announced later Thursday, with every match to be shown by CBS Sports, CBS Sports Golazo and/or Paramount+. For full listings, click here.
