Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action this Friday, heading to the capital to face Chelsea Under-21s at Kingsmeadow.

The Whites head into the clash with two wins in their previous four matches in all competitions, beating Birmingham City in the PL Cup last time out, as well as recording an impressive 3-1 victory over Everton on league duties.

In that recent encounter with Birmingham, a close-range finish from Diogo Monteiro handed Scott Gardner’s side the lead heading into the break, before strikes from Connor Douglas and Harry Gray added gloss to the scoreline in the second half.

Leeds sit 18th in the standings with 15 points, knowing they can climb up the table should they win their game in hand.

Chelsea, meanwhile, go into the encounter in sixth position, having won seven of their opening 13 PL2 fixtures.

Last time out, however, Filipe Coelho’s Blues fell to defeat on home soil at the hands of Southampton – their second loss in five outings.

The two teams met this time last year at the same venue, with the spoils shared in an enthralling six-goal thriller. Behind on three occasions, goals from Charlie Allen, Marley Wilson and Luca Thomas earned the Whites a well-deserved point on the road.
