Former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is reportedly being lined up by two Premier League clubs.

The striker left United in 2023 after his charges of attempted rape, amongst others, were dropped.

Despite the ending of the legal case, the Red Devils decided there would be no way back for the academy product and loaned him to Spain for the 2023-2024 season. He would be an integral part of Getafe’s season and was linked with a move to Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Nonetheless, he finally would leave Old Trafford permanently last summer with a move to Olympique de Marseille.

Greenwood has been in sensational form this season, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in all competitions.

Whilst the French side are currently on course to qualify for the Champions League, there have been hints that Greenwood is no longer settled in the south of France.

The Telegraph report that “those who know Greenwood best now speculate a growing interest from Premier League clubs.”

Despite his fine form, there have been rumblings from the Marseille fans about his work rate and his boss Roberto De Zerbi has not always been publicly complimentary of the 23 year old’s effort.

It has previously been reported that in spite of initially settling in well in France, Greenwood would welcome a return to England.

“Sources in France are increasingly convinced that at least two Premier League teams may be weighing up an approach” for the lethal goalscorer.

There have been mixed reports on the former United star’s future as some outlets claim that Premier League clubs fear a public backlash over his potential signature.

Nonetheless, others suggest that Liverpool could make a blockbuster move for the 23 year old.

There have also been reports that Greenwood is being tracked by clubs in Saudi Arabia and that they may be prepared to throw €90 million on the table to convince Marseille to sell.

Any move for Greenwood this summer would benefit United due to the sell-on clause included in the deal with the Ligue 1 club last summer, entitling the Reds to 50% of any profits from a future transfer.
