As Manchester United fans had expected heading into the transfer window, Alejandro Garnacho has indeed played his final game for the side.

The news was verified by Fabrizio Romano on Saturday, although it had already been as good as confirmed after reports revealed that Ruben Amorim had told the youngster to ‘pray’ he could find another club in the aftermath of his post-Europa League final antics.

Indeed, Garnacho had took part in a bombshell interview in Bilbao a fortnight ago, which saw him label United’s season as ‘sh*t’, rue Amorim’s decision to bench him for the final, and hint at a move away by saying: “I’ll enjoy my summer and then we’ll see.”

Alas, you’d struggle to see any way back for a player following such ill-advised antics — hence why Jadon Sancho is now also considered an outcast.

Garnacho, unlike his senior counterpart who’s just been let go by Chelsea, is certainly on the up in his career. At just 20 years old, he has accumulated 144 senior United appearances, returning 26 goals and 22 assists.

His attacking prowess, even if at times wasteful, can easily be refined as he continues developing his game. Wherever that may be, however, is the question on fans’ lips.

Arsenal and Chelsea offer Garnacho chance to remain in England

Along with Romano’s update two days ago, he claimed that three Premier League clubs had established their interest in United’s academy graduate, whose sale will generate pure profit for the board. Bayer Leverkusen and numerous unnamed Italian sides have also been ‘calling’ the Reds to gauge the possibility of doing a deal.

Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul has now disclosed two of the trio of English teams in pursuit of the forward as Arsenal and Chelsea, the latter of which are said to be leading the race.

Both provide him the opportunity of playing Champions League football next season, although it remains to be seen how much game time he’d be granted at Stamford Bridge, given their increased squad depth.
